Latest pandemic..

Swine Influenza also known as Swine flu is an infection by any one of several types of influenza virus. It is caused by strain of Influenza type of viruses such as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3. These strains of swine flu rarely passes from human to human. Some of the symptoms are similar to that of influenza namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing with chest pain and general discomfort.

Influenza spreads between humans through coughing or sneezing and people touching something with virus and then touching their own nose or mouth. Swine flu is not transmitted through food. The swine flu in humans is most contagious during the first five days of the illness although some people, most commonly children, can remain contagious for up to ten days.

Prevention :- Influenza spreads between humans through coughing , sneezing etc. Frequent hand-washing can prevent viral infections. Also avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with hands prevents flu. Alcohol based gel can also be used to destroy viruses. Anyone with flu-like symptoms such as a sudden fever, cough or muscle aches should stay away from work or public transportation and should contact a doctor for advice. another tactic to prevent flu is social distancing. Avoid large gatherings.

Treatment :- If a person becomes sick with swine flu, antiviral drugs can make the illness milder. It works best if started soon after getting sick within 2 days of symptoms. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the use of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir) for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with swine influenza viruses; however, the majority of people infected with the virus make a full recovery without requiring any medical attention of antiviral drugs. The virus isolates in the 2009 outbreak have been found resistant to amantadine and rimantadine.

Tulsi is a medicinal plant of indian origins having abundant medicinal effects. the latest revelation about the medicinal properties of tulsi comes in the wake of pandemic alerts.

The treatment for Swine Flu involves consumption of 20 – 25 leaves of Tulsi in its fresh form or as liquid and to be taken in empty stomach twice a day. The revelation assumes significance as traditional medicines are found lacking in their ability to tackle H1N1 virus, with Swine Flu sweeping across the world, spreading panic among people and offices and schools being shut down to control the spread of the epidemic. Traditionally, Hindu temples provide water that has Tulsi leaves soaked in it to devotees. Tulsi leaves are boiled in water and the essence is given to children and adults who suffer from flu and common cold. Tulsi strengthens the body’s immune system in children and protects them from common infections.

Vizag Trip - Colleagues Marriage

It was on Aug 07th 2009 that we have planned for a trip to Vishakapatnam in order to attend our colleague satya's marriage. All the arrangements were preplanned a month ago. Totally six members were decided to go for Vizag on that peculiar day. We caught a night train in Central at sharp 23.35 P.M which was expected to reach Vishakapatnam at 13.00 P.M on thursday. But the train reached the spot about 12.45 P.M where Bapu received us at the station. We were then taken to Hotel which is around 10 minutes from the station by auto. we got fresh up in hotel and then were ready by 13.35 to attend satya's marriage been held at St.Paul's church. Around 13.50 we all reached the church where we also meet our colleagues (Rajesh and Karthik support) who reached the spot a day earlier than us. we all had a lunch there and some photosnaps.

Soon after the marriage, we planned to go for a small outing over there in nearby places wherein we saw beach, Kailash temple and other places on the same day ie on thursday eve.

After seeing the places in and around Vizag, we were moved to the respective rooms which was arranged by our colleague Satya. That night we had a small party in a room and every one felt asleep so early as all were tired. The next day morning we got up early by 6.00 as we have planned to go for Arakku Valley which is around 175 km from vizag. By 7.35, we started from room as Bapu brought a scorpio there. Soon we had a breakfast and then started to reach arakku. On the way, we saw Borra caves which is simply a superb location and masti place to enjoy.

Next place where we went after Borra caves is a small waterfall which is very deep and behind borra caves. No one should miss this spot since it is a deep waterfall where we can spend our time a lot to enjoy.

Soon after this spot we had a lunch in Hotel cum home which is very tasty and then we moved to arakku valley where we spend our evening venture. It was really a good sight to watch the mountain view on the way. Every one of us had a nice bath in Arakku valley wherein Bapu's brother Vasu take some photsnaps.

It was a cool climate over there and it started to rain heavily by 6.30 P.M. so we need to packup our things and went back to room. Around 9.30 we reached our room and everyone felt tired and so slept early. Next day (Saturday) , As we have to catch the train by 14.30 P.M, we got up late by 8 A.M. We vacated the room by 13.10 P.M and went to station. We caught the train by 14.30 and it reached chennai next day morning 03.30. I reached my home around 04.15 A.M. The trip was really a cool and more enjoyable which i couldn't forget in my life. Many more trips to go..........
