The Engagement function is expected to start from 12.00 PM to 13.30 PM on 14th July 2010. So we quadra team decided to catch train at 10 AM on that peculiar day as the journey may take nearly 2 hours to reach the destination. As the train starts from central railway station at 10 AM, Barath, Karthik and Jana caught the train sharply and get into the middle of the train as i requested so that i could have a seat when i catch the same train in my place (Annanur) which is almost 36 min from central. As i expected, I caught the train at Avadi around 10.45 AM and joined the trio. Though there is a crowd in train, We all managed to have a seat comfortably unless we reach the destination.
We reached Arakkonam at around 12 PM sharp. As i am very well aware of that mandapam where the engagement function is being held. It was quite easy for us to go to the place. However we took auto to reach the mandapam. By 12.05 PM, We could reach the mandapam. As soon as we reached had grape juice and was given a warm welcome by one of gopi's relative. We then met Gopi and convey our wishes before the function started. We then chatted among folks in the mandapam while new bride groom is busy as usual in getting ready for his engagement.
In the meantime, We were waiting for the guys who planned to reach the destination by car. The Engagement function begins at 12.10 PM in which bridegroom is engrossed with a white silky shirt and black pant while bride in blue dress. As the function is proceeding, the elders from both the families announced the date of their marriage which is on the month of November.
After the announcement in the function, the guys who were expected to reach the mandapam by car were arrived there around 13.05 PM. then we all met and had a chat for a while. Soon we had a lunch as few of us in a hurry to get back to office. While having lunch, We met other colleagues namely Saravanan and jagadish there around 1.45.After our lunch, As few of us need to get back to office, We paved the sigh of bye to the couples. But in the meantime, We then decided to have a group photo with the couples and taken the photos. We planned to catch the train at 1.55 PM but it was too late for us to catch so decided to go by next train which is at 14.50 PM in Arakkonam.
We then called Gopi out for a while and with his engagement dress, We as a group again taken some photos and he arranged car for three of us from mandapam to station which dropped us at Arakkonam railway station at around 14.20 PM. The other guys too left in the car at the same time we left. But there is no idea about Saravanan and Jagadish whom we met just before few min. However we reached Station.
The train to Central is expected to reach Arakkonam by 14.50 is running late by 10 minutes. To a surprise, Saravanan and jagadish were on the way to station to join us while we return. As announced, Train reached at 15.00 PM and in five minutes it started so we were expected to reach central railway station by 17.00 PM. We all got a seat comfortably during our return too. On the way, Saravanan and Jagadish got down at Basin Bridge railway station while we trio Me, Barry and Karthik TL got down at central at sharp 16.55 PM as Jana left for Tiruttani he didnt join us while we return.
As me, Barry and Karthik Val TL were in a hurry to reach office as we are in second shift on that peculiar day. Though we had 2 hours permission, However we need to avail half day CL as we were able to reach the office only by 18 PM. But the guys who left by car were able to reach chennai bit early compared to us. They reached at around 17.15 PM. Then the evening went as usual in office. I reached home at around 23.15 after my office shift gets over. The trip was cool and enjoyable as our previous one to Vizag but very short half day trip this time. Many more trips to go...........
